Woman at spinning wheel, a carving by Adelard Cote. This is a three part carving, including the spinning wheel, woman and chair. Her arms are movable and the wheel spins. The lever on the bottom also goes up and down as the wheel moves. The carving is painted. The woman wears a brown top with long sleeves and 4 buttons. The skirt is ivory. She has blond/white hair and a bun in the back. Brown moccasin type shoes, black eyes, and dark skin. The chair is wooden with a caned, red seat made of synthetic material, possibly thin plastic. It has a straight, high back and is brown. There are 4 visible screws in the back The two backboards are slatted in place. There are wood plugs in the front of the chair, possibly covering additional screws. The spinning wheel itself has movable. parts. The wheel spins and as it does, the pedal on the. bottom goes up and down.
