Voices and Visions Lecture Series
As part of Biddeford 250 and America 250, the Voices and Visions Lecture Series will take place throughout the year
This lecture series explores the many histories that shaped the United States, from Indigenous presence and precolonial life to revolution, community, and change. Through archaeology, scholarship, and local perspectives, the Biddeford Cultural and Heritage Center invites the public to reflect on 250 years of history in context.

Part Two of Dr. Beaupré’s 2 part series of The French Presence in North America-
“The Beginnings of a New Society — Emigration Right Through Biddeford” will continue the story, following the development of French-Canadian society and the migration of families into New England and communities such as Biddeford.

Through historical accounts, documentary sources, and his extensive knowledge of Franco-American heritage, Dr. Norman Beaupré will introduce audiences to the people, places, and events that shaped early French North America.and life in Biddeford.
The event will be held at McArthur Library 270 Main Street Biddeford, ME.
Community Time Capsule Closing Ceremony
Jan. 7, 2027 7-9 pm
Join Biddeford Cultural and Heritage Center as we recognize the official closing ceremony of the 2026 Semiquincentenniel Community Time Capsule.
The time capsule will be sealed and permanently housed at Biddeford City Hall until its opening in 2076, serving as a constant reminder that we are both the beneficiaries of our community’s past and the stewards of its future.
