Painting by self- taught Franco-American artist, Ray Courtois who was born in Biddeford, ME. and the son of two Canadian immigrants. He was employed at the Naval Shipyard. He painted Parisian scenes and according to Bernard Cowan, his mother, Bella, told him that the paintings were inspired by a famous French artist whose name he could not recall.
