St. Mary's Church in Biddeford, Maine was established about 1856 on Vetromille Street which later became St. Mary's Street. It served the city's Irish immigrant population. The church was originally known as the Church of the Assumption. Prior to the building of the church, Catholics met in the Pepperell Mills.for services. The church was rebuilt in 1923-1926 after a fire. It was officially closed in 2009. The print shows the former rectory and St. Mary's School. St. Mary's School also closed and was demolished. Dunkin Donuts currently resides on the property where the school and was located on St. Mary's Street.
