Born in Biddeford in 1930, Sister Madeleine Couture joined the Good Shepherd sisters in her early 20’s. She went to college to become a teacher and dedicated her life to that profession.  She taught school in many communities including Methuen and Bradford Massachusetts, Donelson Tennessee as well as Grand Isle and Old Town Maine.  She taught at St Joseph’s School in Biddeford from 1984-1992 and volunteered for over 10 years at St James School after retiring.
