Lloyd is the third generation of attorneys who actively chose to have a law practice in Biddeford despite having other location options.

The family has an established legacy of public service. His father, Lloyd Jr,  was a Judge of Probate, US Attorney for the State of Maine and ran for Governor in 1974.  Lloyd III served on Biddeford’s School Board and represented the community in the State’s House of Representatives and Senate.  After practicing law with his father for 15 years, he has been appointed by successive Governors to be Superintendent of the Bureau of Financial Institution since 2005.  Active engagement in the community is at the core of his family’s approach, to include his wife and three children.

He credits his trailblazer grandmother as his #1 influencer and considers his Biddeford connections as his strongest.

“Biddeford is where I grew up, have roots and I think was a fine place to live.  The only reason I don’t live here now is because of my work (in Augusta).”
