Music Hall of Fame Nomination Criteria

The Greater Biddeford-Saco Music Hall of Fame Award honors outstanding bands, musicians, and songwriters who have achieved success through their talents, perseverance, accomplishments, and work ethic.

Anyone can nominate or be nominated with the following stipulations:

Nominees will be limited to those who began performing locally a minimum of twenty-five years prior to the current year of the event.

The nominee must be or have been a resident of the Greater Biddeford-Saco area (York County) at some time in their lives or left a significant mark on the local music scene.

A band which has been nominated must have at least one member who was a part of the community.

A person may nominate themselves.

A nominator may submit testimonials. These can come from family, friends, clergy, co-workers, employers, city official, etc.

Nominators are encouraged to submit information about the nominee’s lifetime achievements and awards.

After all nominations are received from the public through the BSMHOF Committee, the Selection Committee shall have the option of adding nominees to be considered and must provide informational copies of new nominations for each member at the first Selection Committee prior to its second meeting.

There is no limit to the number of nominees that can be submitted for consideration.

There is no limit to the number of individuals/bands a person can nominate.

The recipients must agree to be photographed and be present, if possible, at the award ceremony. If unavailable, the recipients may designate a person to represent them at the ceremony. (Every effort will be made to have a representative present for any deceased recipients.)

Should a nominee (individual or band) refuse to accept the award or are not willing participate in the induction ceremony, that nominee shall be replaced by the nominee with the next highest vote total.

Individual members of a band may accept on behalf of a band and participate in the event if they choose to.

Deadline for submissions of nominations will be January 1st, 2025 for the general public and prior to the first meeting for Selection Committee members.

Applications received after the deadline will be saved for consideration in the 2026 GBSMHOF nomination cycle.

Any information given is not mandatory but will be helpful in the decision of the selection committee.

It is strongly encouraged that you submit supporting materials, including reasons for the nomination, specific awards, achievements, dates, band and individual bios, pictures, in addition to the form below.
