Charles, known as ” Chuck” Tsomides was born in Biddeford, Maine in the Webber Hospital on September 5th, 1953. He was the youngest son of Efthomeo Tsomides and Anastasia Hadiaris and has two older siblings. He is of Greek descent.
His parents married at the first Greek Orthodox Church in Biddeford, St. Demetrios and were both born here in Maine. His paternal grandfather, a tailor, was living in Turkey at the time of his immigration to Biddeford, He worked as a tailor as did his son, Chuck’s father, on top of what was the Nichols Store in Biddeford at the American Tailor Company.
Chuck speaks of his strong ties to the Greek Community of Biddeford Saco. He has always lived in Saco, but also worked for 35 years at the Webber Hospital which later became Southern Maine Medical Center.
He reminisces about his family, his love of sports and music and most importantly, about his family, church and the Greek Culture. He retired at the age of 62 from SMMC and now pursues his hobbies, along with an active involvement in the community and his church life.

Talks of his 35 year connection with Southern Maine Medical Center ( Webber Hospital) and the changes over the years receiving various pins and awards over the years, making lifelong friends.
Born in the 1950’s he remains devoted to his family. He made the choice to quit his job after 35 yrs to care for his mother when she was ill and talks of how difficult it was to be alone after she died.
He speaks of his learning disabilities and how that affected the choices in his life.
An avid sports fan, he has received awards for his support and dedication as a supporter of the Thornton Academy Football team and the communities at large.
Respectful and involved with the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, he is extremely proud of his church, Greek Heritage and the accomplishments in his life.
